On root valuation strata
Abstract: Root valuation strata form a collection of disjoint subsets in the adjoint quotient of the Lie algebra of a reductive group over a Laurent power series field. The strata arise from the subsets in the Lie algebra along which the dimension of affine Springer fibers is constant. The goal of this talk is to explain how Springer's results on regular elements in Weyl groups can be extended to answer questions about the root valuation strata.
