Organizational Meeting
Abstract: IOUMath is planned as a weekly seminar this summer on any and all topics of interest to its members. I will begin by reporting on the netGeometry experiment to put two advanced geometry courses online. In this first session I will demonstrate the Pudding, texWins, and QAint, the Javascript tools we have been using with great success for the past six terms. Future seminars will introduce graphical tools and progress in using the Moodle. It is hoped that a lively discourse will develop on whether advanced online geometry courses are a necessety, a convenience or a luxury. Controversial topics, such as the profit motive and online mathematics are welcome.
