At the National University of Singapore we have a General education Program consisting of courses targeted at students from all majors. I have taught a course on "Mathematics in Art and Architecture". The goal of the course is to show how mathematics is related to many areas of art and architecture. The students will see how mathematics is not just about formulas and logic, but about patterns, symmetry, shape, structure and beauty. They will learn to look at the world around them with different eyes. I talk about tilings, patterns, polyhedra, Escher, perspective and labyrinths.\par Half the grade is based on a project. I have a long list of possible projects, but the students can also propose their own projects. They have two submit two homeworks. One is to build paper models of the five Platonic solids. The other is to take pictures of five mathematically interesting objects around them.\par Based on the course evaluations, the students loved the course!\par For more details, please see the web page .
