My rental car was the smallest Corsa available,
but I stayed in the fanciest place in Ávila,
the parador converted from an old palace.
Ávila is known for the intact city walls which enclose
the entire old city. There are nice views of a church
outside the walls.
In Ávila, the Monasterio de Santo Tomas,
founded by Ferdinand and Isabella,
includes many heraldic decorations, including a yoke and arrows
whose rope is usually tied in interesting knots.
