In northern Spain there are a number of prehistoric ruins, including numerous cave paintings and dolmen (large stones arranged in special configurations). This dolmen (sized just right for Karen Ruhleder to stand inside) is not far from Altsasu.

The idol of Peña-Tú is a natural rock formation overlooking the Atlantic below the Picos de Europa, with some prehistoric paintings on it.
