During the ISAMA'99 conference on Math, Art and Architecture,
held June 7-11 in San Sebastián, Spain, the
sculptor Keizo Ushio created a new sculpture, "Oushi Zoukei 1999".
Starting from a solid torus of granite, he drilled through
(along a (1,1)-curve) to divide into two linked pieces of
stone, which he then repositioned to touch along what used
to be their outer surfaces.
