The skyline of Toledo is dominated by the square Alcazár monastery. The cathedral cloister has arabesque ceiling decoration.

On the outskirts of Toledo is a convent where the nuns have vowed not to see or be seen by others. They make mazapan (marzipan) and sell it through this glass display and dumbwaiter.

Along the road from Toledo to Ávila, there are many abandoned castles, including one in Barcience with a nice decoration of a lion.

Just up the road in Maqueda(?) is another castle, with a rundown bar and service station just behind it.
